The Difference Between Fire and Anger

blueflameThere is a difference between Fire and Anger.

I've been looking at it a lot this past week because, well, a lot of people are angry, or is it that they have fire?

Here's how I see the two:

Anger comes from a primitive place within us. For me, I see it rooted in our reptilian brain at the base of our skull, the aspect of our brain which which dictates our most primitive responses. Anger is an energy that overtakes us, taking control of our words, our actions even our body. We are unconscious when we are overcome by anger or as the saying goes 'blinded by anger.' It is an energy that is situated in the head.

Think about the last time you were angry. Where did that anger emanate from? What can you remember about that moment?

Fire comes from our third chakra, or energy center. The third chakra is located at our solar-plexus and it is connected to our power. In it's lowest form, that power can show up as an ego-body action grasping for power and recognition. In it's clearest form, the energy of the third chakra becomes Spiritual power, the power to create real change and that power is depicted as a clear burning light. Similar to the flame on a gas burner; when the flame is out of balance it burns yellow but as you bring the mixture of gas and air into balance, the flame burns cleanly.  Our pure fire is an empowered energy that fuels us rather than drives us or controls us. It burns up clean and bright with clarity and purpose and inspires us from a place of truth to make a difference or take a stand. Fire is a conscious response to wanting to create change in our life and in our world.

Have you ever experienced the raw power of your fire? Can you denote the difference between your experience of anger and your experience of fire?

When we tap into the power that comes from our fire we can create real change.

If you have had enough of your world or 'the' world as it is, be aware of where you are drawing your fuel. Anger fuels more anger, FIRE can change the world.
