Fertility: Is it percentages or something else? A Metaphysical Look AtConception, Pregnancy and Parenthood

On Today Health I found this article, Fertility math? Most women flunk, survey finds -Basic conception stats masked by glamorous over-40 mommies like Mariah written by JoNell Aleccia.  Where it is an excellent and relevant article from a physiological perspective, it allows me to share my Metaphysical insight into conception and pregnancy.

As with everyone in our lives, conception, at the Spiritual level, comes down to an agreement.  In this case between baby, Mom and Dad (that's in it's simplest form - if donors, surrogates and adoption are added in then you have more guests in the agreement party, but for ease of discussion we'll look at Baby, Mom and Dad). An agreement is the contract between Spirits that details the how, why and whatfore we will be in each others lives.  If you've worked with me or listen to my radio show you know I speak often about the core purpose we are all here - which is to learn, heal and grow as Spiritual beings.  It is through our relationships that we explore this purpose and it is through our agreements that the stage gets set for us to encounter the lessons that will help us learn, heal and grow.


So before we even get to the question of can we get pregnant, we must look at and consider the Spiritual agreement or agreements wrapped up in our journey to and through pregnancy and then on into parenting.

For the majority of us we are unconscious to this piece of the puzzle.  As women we oftentimes see ourselves as the vessel to carry a child.  But if you have conscious awareness of Spiritual agreements, then you can begin to create a partnership with the child that will be yours.  As in any negotiation you can set forth what you are and are not willing to do as a parent, the type of relationship you want, even your interactions during your pregnancy.  And as in any situation that we are asking to bring something or someone into our lives, we have to be able to have what is that we are bringing in. If an aspect of your learning, healing and growing is wrapped up in conceiving, conception won't happen until that piece is learned and healed.

I have had the opportunity to work with many women over the years during this process, from preconception right straight through to birth.  When a woman chooses to step into the process of conscious pregnancy, the important information is that the work each woman does is about and for her first and foremost, it is not about getting pregnant.  To enter into this amazing journey to conception, we need to be willing to explore the energies, blocks and limiting concepts we hold so that we can make room for the Spirit that will be our child.

Many Spirits coming in today want to be with Conscious Parents.  They want guides in their lives that will see them as conscious beings, fully capable from the start and solely requiring guidance and support.  All children have this capacity, but many, as part of their Spiritual agreements and as part of the groundwork for the lessons, healing and growth they will encounter in life, choose unconscious parents that limit them and refuse to see the power and insight they hold as children.  This applies to many of us as adults.  The agreements we made with our parents often fell under this dynamic because when we were born the world wasn't ready for so many bright lights to be walking the earth.  It was in our desire to be seen, to be heard and to embrace our own truth that not only we have grown, but so too has the collective human consciousness.  So an unconscious approach to pregnancy worked fine.  But today, the world is energetically very different and the Spirits coming in are big, bright and empowered and they want parents who will honor this, not try to strip it away or hide it out of fear.

So although on the physilogical level there are scientifically documented percentages and diminishing capabilities as we age, I believe, from a metaphysical perspective, conception comes down to our own Spiritual journey.  Once we understand and embrace the concept of Spiritual agreements and open the door to our own willingness to do the energetic work of learning, growing and healing - we create a whole new playing field from which to consider conception, pregnancy and parenting.
